Our Next Disney Celebration!

After much debate and thought, we have decided to brave Walt Disney World (WDW) in Orlando, FL once again. Our last trip was such a bust that we really want to go back and have a Re-Do vacation. A vacation like we wanted to have the last time. This time will be much different. We have learned a lot since our last trip and several other things have changed as well.

So as we were looking into this trip we had to think about where we want to stay, how long we want to stay, what time of year we want to go, what our budget should be, and what are we going to do differently this time. It has been an exciting process really. We decided because when we go next year I will have my new, very large, service dog with us, we might need more room. We thought about the different resorts, but the prices were pretty steep. Then one day my husband got an email that had a coupon pin inside for 30% off of a moderate resort stay. So I decided to call on it to see what that would save us. I called and found out that the coupon would only be good until Monday the following week.

This coupon pin would save us over $850.00 for an 8-night stay at The Cabins at Fort Wilderness (where we wanted to stay at the most). This would mean that staying where we wanted to and would be comfortable for about the same price as staying at a value resort. This also includes the Deluxe Dining plan that we wanted to have. We really like having a dining plan because it frees us up for going to the Character Meals we like as well as sit down restaurants that have food that is healthier than fast food or Quick Service meals. Without the meal plan we likely would not go to those places. Since the price was so great we decided to go ahead and reserve the trip at that time. We paid the deposit and can always cancel if we change our minds or something happens to prevent us from going. However, booking so far in advance means we get the best price.

So we took the plunge. We reserved our next vacation to WDW. Our trip will begin the week after Thanksgiving, November 29th, 2010, through December 7th, 2010. We will be staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness across the lake from the Magic Kingdom. We are so excited. Fort Wilderness is wonderful for us because the cabin will have much more space for us to get around in, as well as there is a dog park on site and many other things that will be great for us all as a family.

The cabin has a full kitchen with oven and fridge, a full sized bathroom, living room with a double Murphy Bed, bedroom with a full bed and twin bunk beds, dining room with a table for 6 as well as a small kids table, a wood deck outside with a picnic table, and many other things that will be so great for us. The property has nightly sing-a-longs with Chip and Dale where you roast marshmallows over a fire. There is also a water parade that goes past the Fort each night. There are horse back rides, a petting zoo, bike rentals, canoe rentals, boat rentals, and much more. It will be a lot of fun and comfortable for us as well as being really close to the Magic Kingdom.

So the next step is to reserve a golf cart to get around the resort with since they get booked up quickly. After that we will be planning out our days and deciding what restaurants we want to visit while there and making reservations for those places. Woo! I am so excited and so is Joel.
